This amazing Steve Brand-release obviously is a symbolic one as well, as it features the ‘crossroad’ that was looming up at a certain point in Steve’s life.. A challenging time most of us will recognize, in all kinds of ways.. new challenges lie ahead but change can also be frightening.. During those moments we seem to forget that change also brings new possibilities, joy, inspiration and a drive within us.. All this is clearly sensible in these amazing deep soundpaintings from Steve, who clearly found a new sound.. Not afraid to use deeper colours from his soundpalette, to discover new territory, and new paths to follow... I love these new sounds on this album and the immersiveness that takes you deeper into this journey of growth.. I also love it when an artist is not afraid to seek new horizons! Some moments on the album remind me of the stunning music by Anthony Paul Kerby (Nunc Stans, The Circular Ruins, The Winterhouse, among others), although it has Steve’s signature all over it..
